STRATEGIC PLAN APPROVED
Tuesday, March 12, the Governing Board approved the first and most significant component of the MSD 2013-2016 Strategic Plan. The process to begin developing the plan officially kicked-off in October. A few months later, and following two dozen meetings and input from parents, students, staff, Governing Board and community members, the future direction for the MSD has been set with an updated mission, vision, new core beliefs and priorities. More recently, the Strategic Plan implementation strategies have been developed and added to the plan, as well as a plan for communication. The entire plan can be viewed below. Thank you to the hundreds of school and community members who participated in the development of the MSD Strategic Plan.
Think critically, communicate clearly and solve complex problems
In a survey released Wednesday by the Association of American Colleges and Universities, 93 percent of employers agreed that "a candidate's demonstrated capacity to think critically, communicate clearly and solve complex problems is more important than their undergraduate major." Four out of 5 employers said each college graduate should have broad knowledge in the liberal arts and sciences, and 3 out of 4 would recommend a liberal education to their own children.
