Q: What is the the California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS)?
It is a comprehensive data collection system that provides essential and reliable health risk assessment and resilience information to schools, districts and communities. It is targeted at grades 5 through 12. The survey enables schools and communities to collect and analyze valuable data regarding local youth health, risks, assets and behaviors. It is designed to be part of a comprehensive data-driven decision making process to help guide the development of more effective health, prevention and youth development programs.

Q: Why is it important for our students to take this survey?
A: It means that our District schools receive relevant, useful knowledge tailored to their needs to promote healthy choices for resilient students.

Q: When is the CHKS?
A: The survey window will be from February 23rd to 27th, 2015. The survey takes 50 minutes to complete, and is voluntary and anonymous.
